What we do:

Early Arriver Time (Large Group Environment): Each child is greeted at the registration desk located in the Kingdom Kids area of the fellowship hall and a leader will be leading in an Early Arriver activity meant to introduce the one TRUTH, or bottom line, we want kids to walk away with and remember that morning.

Plug In and Catch On (Small Group Environment): Shortly after arriving and participating in Early Arriver, kids travel to their small group classroom where their Small Group Leader helps them understand how the day's bottom line can fit into their everyday life. Kingdom Kids Small group leaders are serious about having fun with kids and passionate about teaching the TRUTH. We want kids to see how God's word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. Every Sunday they connect with the same small group of kids and the same small group leader. That way they get connected and we have the best chance to establish a relationship that's going to matter when they need it most.

Power Up (Large Group Environment): After small group time, kids are moved to their large group environment where they hear the Bible story. We use costumes, props, and characters from the story - anything that makes the Bible come to life. We also carve out time each week for kids to see a video that has a direct message to the Bible story presented that day.

252 Basics

Here is some more about the curriculum we use called 252 Basics. You can read more about it at www.252basics.com. Based on Luke 2:52, the curriculum is built around our Three Basic Truths.

Luke 2:52 (NIV) - And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

  1. Wisdom: I need to make the wise choice.
  2. Faith: I can trust God no matter what.
  3. Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

The Three Basic Truths are amplified through 36 monthly virtues (such as kindness, generosity and faith) and 150 Bible stories. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month. Every week there is a key TRUTH or bottom line that we drive home. It's the ONE THING we want kids to understand and grab onto during their time in Kingdom Kids.
